In a beautiful and pine-covered bay is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches of Skopelos. Stafylos is a sandy beach with clear, turquoise waters. It is a long beach, and although there is a refreshment bar where you can buy water, coffee, refreshments etc. , there is plenty of free space. The beach is organized with umbrellas, sunbeds and a lifeguard.<\/p>\n

From Stafylo, there is a path leading to Velanio beach, a remote beach where it is mainly preferred by nudists.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stafylos beach is 4 km from Agnontas and 4.5 km from the capital of the island and can be easily reached by car or bus. The bus stop is about 500 meters away from the coast and involves a downhill road and some steep stone steps.<\/span><\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Velanio beach is very close to Stafylos beach, on the other side of the cape, and you can reach it from the path that starts from there. It is basically two beaches separated by rocks, and it is organized with a canteen, beach bar, and sunbeds. It has sand and fine pebbles, and there is a cave at one end. The part of the beach behind the rocks is a nudist hangout. Like most beaches in Skopelos, it is surrounded by dense vegetation.<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Just beyond the picturesque port of Agnontas, take the dirt road and get ready for Akrotiri Amarantos, the little paradise of Skopelos! The beauty of this part of the island has been captured in photos of travellers who have been to the island and it has also become famous through the movie “Mama Mia”, as several of the scenes were filmed there.<\/p>\n

Agnontas is a small, coastal village located on the southwestern side of Skopelos, built on the cove of the bay of Faironymos, just before Cape Amarantos. It is characterized by the picturesque coastal tavernas, while the sunset from the port of Agnontas is an unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n

Access is very easy as it is located just 10 minutes (8 km) from Chora and is very close to most of the famous beaches of the island.<\/span><\/p>\n

Agnontas comes from the ancient history of Skopelos, when the island was still called Peparithos as Skopelos began to prevail from the Roman times onwards. Agnon, was the name of an athlete of 568 BC, who managed to be crowned Olympic champion in the running event of that year’s Olympic Games. On his return, he landed on the beach of Agnontas, and the whole surrounding area was named in his honour. His face has been imprinted on coins of ancient Peparithos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Turning past Cape Amarantos, the picturesque and beautiful Agnontas impresses, as it emerges from the dense green of the pine trees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The wonderful beach of Agnontas is also surrounded by dense vegetation, giving the crystal clear waters a turquoise colour. The beach is pebbled and in one part of the beach is organized, with umbrellas and sunbeds.<\/span><\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Limnonari beach is reminiscent of a lake as most of the time, this sheltered green bay is as calm as the waters of a lake. Limnonari has fine sand in shades of white and gold, while the sea gives the feeling of a swimming pool due to its crystal clear waters.<\/p>\n

Limnonari is located after the settlement of Agnontas (at a distance of 1.5 km) and you will reach it through a 1 km long detour on the left side of the main provincial road of the island. On the first part of the beach there are sunbeds and umbrellas available and there is of course a free section.<\/span><\/p>\n

Around the beach there are many pine trees and greenery that create a very beautiful scenery. It is a very impressive beach that is visited by many people every year and you will find parking nearby.<\/span><\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Panormos is a large, sheltered bay with a pebbled coast and crystal clear waters, while the length of the beach reaches 600 meters. It is one of the largest beaches of Skopelos and has a lifeguard.<\/p>\n

Panormos is 13 minutes from Agnontas and 20 minutes from Skopelos Town.<\/span><\/p>\n

The beach, as well as the whole island of Skopelos, is embraced by dense vegetation that, combined with the blue sea, create a stunning combination. The waters of the beach deepen relatively steeply, which requires a lot of attention especially for small children.<\/span><\/p>\n

In ancient times there was a fortified Acropolis on the Paleokastro hill. Its walls are still preserved today and are in excellent condition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Milia is considered by many as the best beach of Skopelos. It is located at a distance of about 14 kilometres from Skopelos town, about 25 minutes by car and 11 kilometres from Agnondas, a distance that can be covered in about 17 minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Milia has a magnificent view to the sea and opposite is the small green and uninhabited island of Dassia. A rock is a natural boundary for the beach and divides it in half, with the left part being the one that attracts the most visitors while the right part is much quieter. It is a large beach, surrounded by pine trees which, combined with the deep blue waters, create a beautiful, almost exotic, setting.<\/span><\/p>\n

One part of the beach is organised, with sunbeds and umbrellas, a lifeguard and opportunities for water games. There is also a beach bar to enjoy a coffee or a drink.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth staying on the beach until sunset to enjoy a magnificent sunset fading behind the green islet of Dassia in the sea! Kastani beach, famous from the movie Mamma Mia, is also one of the most beautiful beaches of the island. The beach is 15 kilometres from Skopelos town and 12 kilometres from Agnontas.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

It is a coast with beautiful crystal clear crystal clear turquoise waters, a sandy beach and a green environment with pine trees touching the sea. The beach overlooks the islet of Dassia and the island of Skiathos can be seen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The beach has been organized for a few years now, so you will find sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, a beach bar where you can enjoy your coffee or cocktail while there is plenty of free space on the beach for those who want to place their own equipment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the edge of the settlement of Elios, is the beach of Hovolo. Arriving at the end of the beach of the settlement, on your left hand side, you will cross a small stretch in the water to pass behind the big rock.<\/div>\n
This is one of the island’s favourite beaches, with its white rocks and wonderful waters.\u00a0<\/div>\n
You will arrive at Neo Klima from Skopelos, turn left and end up in the sea at a dam, there you leave the car or motorbike and walk carefully to the left, maybe for a while through the sea to the white rock.\u00a0<\/div>\n

There is a beach all along the village of Elios or Neo Klima, parts with small pebbles, beach with larger ones, with stones and sand, standing out as we mentioned the amazing Hovolo. Clear waters here too.<\/div>\n
The beaches of Neos Klima are west-facing and the sunsets are also wonderful from this point.<\/div>\n
Also available is a newly built marina and slipway for boats.<\/div>\n
For those who have inflatable slips and harbours there are still 2 in Skopelos Chora, 1 in Agnontas, 1 in Neo Klima and 1 in Loutraki.<\/div>\n
The beach on the right side as we look towards the sea has a better bottom, while on the left side there is also a beach there but the beach of Chovolos stands out on the edge.<\/div>\n

Leaving Elios, the next beach to discover is Armenopetra. Its trademark is the upright rock standing on its left side.<\/div>\n
To reach Armenopetra, you will leave the main road and enter a downhill cement road, but it is quite to very narrow and will need your special attention. Nevertheless, the blue waters of the beach and the magnificent view will reward you.<\/div>\n
Usually its waters are always very cool to cold, obviously testifying to the existence of underground running water.<\/div>\n
Beautiful sunsets and from here and wonderful views even to the village of Glossa.<\/div>\n

Just before you enter the village of Glossa, you will see a road on your right that leads to the church of Ai Giannis, Ai Giannis to Kastri as it is called, which is located on top of a high rock.<\/div>\n
The approach to the church requires you to climb around 105 steps, but it is well worth the effort.<\/div>\n
There are two small beaches there, with rocks and lovely waters.<\/div>\n
You can reach them on foot (especially the first one), leaving the car on the main road near the small canteen there.<\/div>\n
Easily accessible is one of the two, but if you go to the one next door you will have to climb the rocks or swim.<\/div>\n
If there is a swell (north winds) it is better to go to one of the western or southern beaches (such as Milia, Kastani, Hovolo, Panormo, Limnonari etc.) which will have calmer waters and will not be stirred by the north wind.<\/div>\n
But if there is no wind the waters are wonderful and the landscape is magnificent<\/div>\n

On the northeastern side of the island, near the village of Glossa, there are also some beaches of exceptional and wild beauty.<\/div>\n
Following the asphalt road that starts from Glossa and goes right above it, you will reach Perivoliou beach. Basically it is a beautiful circular route and you can go from any direction you wish.<\/div>\n
Following the small path with stairs you will find yourself on a beautiful beach, with clear blue waters and impressive rocks that cast their shadow on the coast.<\/div>\n
Due to its location, the beach is affected by the north winds.<\/div>\n
Just before you reach the beach, you will see a carved and painted stone on your right.<\/div>\n
Go down for a walk to the quirky Acropolis built by Uncle Stelios Karvelis. His carved stone works are scattered throughout the estate and depict Uncle Stelios’ family.<\/div>\n

Stafylos beach<\/h3>\n

In a beautiful and pine-covered bay is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches of Skopelos. Stafylos is a sandy beach with clear, turquoise waters. It is a long beach, and although there is a refreshment bar where you can buy water, coffee, refreshments etc. , there is plenty of free space. The beach is organized with umbrellas, sunbeds and a lifeguard.<\/p>

From Stafylo, there is a path leading to Velanio beach, a remote beach where it is mainly preferred by nudists.<\/p>

Stafylos beach is 4 km from Agnontas and 4.5 km from the capital of the island and can be easily reached by car or bus. The bus stop is about 500 meters away from the coast and involves a downhill road and some steep stone steps.<\/p>\n\n[gallery ids=\"287,289,290,291,292,293,294\"]\n

Velanio<\/h3>\n

Velanio beach is very close to Stafylos beach, on the other side of the cape, and you can reach it from the path that starts from there. It is basically two beaches separated by rocks, and it is organized with a canteen, beach bar, and sunbeds. It has sand and fine pebbles, and there is a cave at one end. The part of the beach behind the rocks is a nudist hangout. Like most beaches in Skopelos, it is surrounded by dense vegetation.<\/p>\n\n\"\u0394\u03b7\u03bc\u03bf\u03c6\u03b9\u03bb\u03b5\u03af\u03c2\n

Amarantos<\/h3>\n

Just beyond the picturesque port of Agnontas, take the dirt road and get ready for Akrotiri Amarantos, the little paradise of Skopelos! The beauty of this part of the island has been captured in photos of travellers who have been to the island and it has also become famous through the movie \"Mama Mia\", as several of the scenes were filmed there.<\/p>

The road leads to a rock where the two curved pines of love, the famous Amarantos pines, stand proudly. The setting is romantic and idyllic, definitely worth a visit.<\/p>\n\n\"\u0394\u03b7\u03bc\u03bf\u03c6\u03b9\u03bb\u03b5\u03af\u03c2\n

Agnontas<\/h3>\n

Agnontas is a small, coastal village located on the southwestern side of Skopelos, built on the cove of the bay of Faironymos, just before Cape Amarantos. It is characterized by the picturesque coastal tavernas, while the sunset from the port of Agnontas is an unforgettable experience.<\/p>

Access is very easy as it is located just 10 minutes (8 km) from Chora and is very close to most of the famous beaches of the island.<\/p>

Agnontas comes from the ancient history of Skopelos, when the island was still called Peparithos as Skopelos began to prevail from the Roman times onwards. Agnon, was the name of an athlete of 568 BC, who managed to be crowned Olympic champion in the running event of that year's Olympic Games. On his return, he landed on the beach of Agnontas, and the whole surrounding area was named in his honour. His face has been imprinted on coins of ancient Peparithos.<\/p>

Turning past Cape Amarantos, the picturesque and beautiful Agnontas impresses, as it emerges from the dense green of the pine trees.\u00a0<\/p>

The wonderful beach of Agnontas is also surrounded by dense vegetation, giving the crystal clear waters a turquoise colour. The beach is pebbled and in one part of the beach is organized, with umbrellas and sunbeds.<\/p>\n\n[gallery ids=\"322,323,324,325,326,327,328,329,330,331,332\"]\n

Limnonari<\/h3>\n

Limnonari beach is reminiscent of a lake as most of the time, this sheltered green bay is as calm as the waters of a lake. Limnonari has fine sand in shades of white and gold, while the sea gives the feeling of a swimming pool due to its crystal clear waters.<\/p>

Limnonari is located after the settlement of Agnontas (at a distance of 1.5 km) and you will reach it through a 1 km long detour on the left side of the main provincial road of the island. On the first part of the beach there are sunbeds and umbrellas available and there is of course a free section.<\/p>

Around the beach there are many pine trees and greenery that create a very beautiful scenery. It is a very impressive beach that is visited by many people every year and you will find parking nearby.<\/p>\n\n[gallery ids=\"305,306,307,308,309\"]\n

Panormos<\/h3>\n

Panormos is a large, sheltered bay with a pebbled coast and crystal clear waters, while the length of the beach reaches 600 meters. It is one of the largest beaches of Skopelos and has a lifeguard.<\/p>

Panormos is 13 minutes from Agnontas and 20 minutes from Skopelos Town.<\/p>

The beach, as well as the whole island of Skopelos, is embraced by dense vegetation that, combined with the blue sea, create a stunning combination. The waters of the beach deepen relatively steeply, which requires a lot of attention especially for small children.<\/p>

In ancient times there was a fortified Acropolis on the Paleokastro hill. Its walls are still preserved today and are in excellent condition.<\/p>

The natural harbour next to Panormos is one of the most beautiful spots, with incredible natural beauty and charm. It is worth visiting.<\/p>\n\n[gallery ids=\"316,317,318,319,320,321\"]\n

Milia<\/h3>\n

Milia is considered by many as the best beach of Skopelos. It is located at a distance of about 14 kilometres from Skopelos town, about 25 minutes by car and 11 kilometres from Agnondas, a distance that can be covered in about 17 minutes.\u00a0<\/p>

Milia has a magnificent view to the sea and opposite is the small green and uninhabited island of Dassia. A rock is a natural boundary for the beach and divides it in half, with the left part being the one that attracts the most visitors while the right part is much quieter. It is a large beach, surrounded by pine trees which, combined with the deep blue waters, create a beautiful, almost exotic, setting.<\/p>

One part of the beach is organised, with sunbeds and umbrellas, a lifeguard and opportunities for water games. There is also a beach bar to enjoy a coffee or a drink.<\/p>

It is worth staying on the beach until sunset to enjoy a magnificent sunset fading behind the green islet of Dassia in the sea! Access to the beach by road is very easy through the existing road network and there is ample parking.<\/p>\n\n[gallery ids=\"310,311,312,313,314,315\"]\n

Kastani<\/h3>\n

Kastani beach, famous from the movie Mamma Mia, is also one of the most beautiful beaches of the island. The beach is 15 kilometres from Skopelos town and 12 kilometres from Agnontas.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

It is a coast with beautiful crystal clear crystal clear turquoise waters, a sandy beach and a green environment with pine trees touching the sea. The beach overlooks the islet of Dassia and the island of Skiathos can be seen.\u00a0<\/p>

The beach has been organized for a few years now, so you will find sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, a beach bar where you can enjoy your coffee or cocktail while there is plenty of free space on the beach for those who want to place their own equipment.\u00a0<\/p>

Ftelia<\/h3>\nThe beach of Ftelia or Neraki, from the first days of July 2023 onwards, is now accessible from the mainland by a passable dirt road that you will meet after Kastani, coming from Skopelos and after Hovolos - Neo Klima coming from Glossa.\u00a0 The beach is organized and has a beach bar and restaurant.\n\n[gallery ids=\"591,592\"]\n

Hovolo<\/h3>\nAt the edge of the settlement of Elios, is the beach of Hovolo. Arriving at the end of the beach of the settlement, on your left hand side, you will cross a small stretch in the water to pass behind the big rock. This is one of the island's favourite beaches, with its white rocks and wonderful waters.\u00a0 You will arrive at Neo Klima from Skopelos, turn left and end up in the sea at a dam, there you leave the car or motorbike and walk carefully to the left, maybe for a while through the sea to the white rock.\u00a0 The further down you go the more wonderful the bottom. The tall white rocks with pine trees clinging to them and the turquoise waters make up a dreamlike scene that you will remember forever.\n\n[gallery ids=\"593,594\"]\n

Elios or Neo Klima<\/h3>\nThere is a beach all along the village of Elios or Neo Klima, parts with small pebbles, beach with larger ones, with stones and sand, standing out as we mentioned the amazing Hovolo. Clear waters here too. The beaches of Neos Klima are west-facing and the sunsets are also wonderful from this point. Also available is a newly built marina and slipway for boats. For those who have inflatable slips and harbours there are still 2 in Skopelos Chora, 1 in Agnontas, 1 in Neo Klima and 1 in Loutraki. The beach on the right side as we look towards the sea has a better bottom, while on the left side there is also a beach there but the beach of Chovolos stands out on the edge. In Neo Klima there are also taverns for eating and a playground.\n\n[gallery ids=\"595,596\"]\n

Armenopetra<\/h3>\nLeaving Elios, the next beach to discover is Armenopetra. Its trademark is the upright rock standing on its left side. To reach Armenopetra, you will leave the main road and enter a downhill cement road, but it is quite to very narrow and will need your special attention. Nevertheless, the blue waters of the beach and the magnificent view will reward you. Usually its waters are always very cool to cold, obviously testifying to the existence of underground running water. Beautiful sunsets and from here and wonderful views even to the village of Glossa. In the landscape you will notice how the trees are leaning (something you find more on the northern side of the island), as Armenopetra is affected by the NW winds mainly during the winter as it opens to the sea.\n\n[gallery ids=\"597,598\"]\n

Ai Giannis - Kastri<\/h3>\nJust before you enter the village of Glossa, you will see a road on your right that leads to the church of Ai Giannis, Ai Giannis to Kastri as it is called, which is located on top of a high rock. The approach to the church requires you to climb around 105 steps, but it is well worth the effort. There are two small beaches there, with rocks and lovely waters. You can reach them on foot (especially the first one), leaving the car on the main road near the small canteen there. Easily accessible is one of the two, but if you go to the one next door you will have to climb the rocks or swim. If there is a swell (north winds) it is better to go to one of the western or southern beaches (such as Milia, Kastani, Hovolo, Panormo, Limnonari etc.) which will have calmer waters and will not be stirred by the north wind. But if there is no wind the waters are wonderful and the landscape is magnificent \u00a0\n\n[gallery ids=\"599,600\"]\n
